Towards the end of 2020, Iman met Sam, a transgender man from Saudi Arabia. From the start, she provided emotional support every single day through virtual calls and messages, to ensure Sam felt supported by us despite such isolation in his home country. 

We had to work with limited time and resources, given imminent danger he was facing at home. Ultimately, his family ended up taking a vacation abroad, upon which Trans Asylias helped Sam separate from his family while on the trip, and break free from the transphobia he was facing from his family. 

Sam is now safe in Europe, and can live his truth as a transgender man. We are so happy he is no longer facing the violence he once was back home, and we wish him peace and healing.
